We continue serialization of Empowered vol. 12, which proved to be the final volume of the series in this specific graphic-novel format, though I was unaware of that unfortunate reality when I started work on the book.

Panel 1's bold and innovative camera angle came about because I happened to have a pretty decent pose rough kicking around that featured a supine Emp seen from above; so I said "what the hell" and repurposed used the pose in an up-angled view from below.

If you're a stickler for continuity, you'll note that Emp's arms are in front of her in panel 1 but behind her by panel 3. While this could be excused by saying that her captors moved her arms thusly between panels in the process of trussing her up—which is entirely possible, by the way—here the reason is that I long ago stopped giving a crap about exactitude and continuity in the "damsel-in-distress" imagery I draw. "DiD" imagery in Empowered usually remains notably more consistent than in commissions or throwaway pieces, but every now and then in the series I would switch pose or restraint elements around if I thought the drawing looked better (or worse, just as often).

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. However, my vast archive of years of Patreon posts—extensive Empowered previews, work-in-progress updates on developmental projects such as fantasy comics Crazy Witch, The Chaste and the Chained and The Last Party, vintage con sketches, work stages on covers, "damsel in distress" commissions, life drawings & much, much more—remains available for Patrons' perusal.
